I'm trying to backup Lord of the Rings (I), and I'm hoping to
keep all the menus and extras. I've been reading as much as I can
from the forums before I even try splitting, etc. (call me crazy).
Being a geek-in-training, I tend to get very much into the deep
technical details of things I'm using. Bad habit I know.
Having read mpucoder's DVD guide as well as using IfoEdit to peek
at the IFO's, there's only one section of the IFO whose function
I don't yet grasp: VTS_VOBU_ADMAP. I have discs that I backed up
using DVDXCopy, and their VTS_VOBU_ADMAP tables are really odd
compared to the original, where the disk has been split. An example:
number of VOBU's
Original: 20942
Disc 1/2: 3311
Disc 2/2: 1985
Where did the other 20000-odd entries go? I'm looking to build a little code myself (sometime soon) to play DVD's, so this confuses the
bejesus out of me.
