I burn all my 1:1 copies\backups\rips through Nero using the DVD-ROM UDF 1.02 compilation method (as recommended on DVDRHelp.com). It has given me no problems and the best playback compatibility so far.

Are there any potential problems doing this? Because I'm especially worried some videos/movies aren't compatibility with this. Like for instance the movie was originally in UDF 1.50, 2.01 or DVD-Video format. Any potential problems always using DVD-ROM UDF 1.02?

The DVD video standard is a subset of UDF 1.02 so you're doing the
right thing :)
