Hi,
maybe someone can help out here.
i got a bundled version of the intervideo winDVD-software player with my asus p4pe motherboard.
as soon as i start the player to watch a dvd i get an access violation.
this can be prevented by turning off the on-board sound-system. then everything works perfectly - but without sound, dvds are no real fun.
the software apparently isnīt buggy since it works well on my older computer which uses an external sound card.
i recently got another software player bundled with my dvd-drive (sonic cineplayer) which works perfectly even with on-board sound activated.
so my hardware doesnīt seem to be damaged either.
I use win98se, all drivers (intel chipset utility, intel application accelerator, on-board sound) are up to date.
since i can use a dvd-player by now, there is no real need to solve the problem. but i am a little curious if anybody else experienced such strange behaviour with WindDVD and the Asus P4PE.
