View Full Version : probs with InstantCopy

I've ripped a DVD with DVDDecrypter (File Mode!) and tried burning that to a DVD-RW with Instant Copy 4,16 GB. But while reading the info the program always crashes, prompting an alert with multicopy.exe and a window opens with "do you want to send a report".
no matter what I do the program always crashes!
tried burning the files with Nero...successfully!....only problem is that the main movie freezes during playback or won’t playback at all with PowerDVD.
Why does InstantCopy always crash?
I’m using Windows XP and InstantCopy was part of the software package.
I’ve already uninstalled and re-installed Instantcopy but no use…
Any suggestions??

have you tried reripping the vobs?
it might be that the vobs in some way are corrupted...
oh and you might want to check out the dvd backup guides at doom9.org
http://doom9.org/mpg/dvdbackup-guides.htm

I've been browsing through and reading thoroughly all the FAQs and guides on that site. but so far the burning still doesn't seem to work for me.
the vob files also seem to be okay as I can play them in full with PowerDVD without any probs with video or audio.
it's just the burning process that still gives me a headache.
and I don't understand why my InstantCopy always crashes. it's not supposed to do that and it drives me crazy...
thanks for your help, but unfortunately it didn't solve my problem.
anyone else got an idea?!?!?!?!

the vob files also seem to be okay as I can play them in full with PowerDVD without any probs with video or audio. Are you using an established burning procedure that has worked in the past?
and I don't understand why my InstantCopy always crashes. it's not supposed to do that and it drives me crazy... Have you had success in the past with other backup prog's? Don't get desperate quite yet, I assure you that you'll run into problems that are more complex than this one. Post more feedback, someone will help you out. Have you checked over in the One click DVD backup solutions (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=65/) forum? Might be a good place to do some hunting.

so far no burning has been successful in the end....
if the burning was successful the playback was screwed...
burning anything with instantcopy doesn't work...always crashes....
nero burns cds, but with dvds I always have playback probs...
ripping is no problem, HDD playback works fine....but no burning on DVDs...

P.S. a lot of people really like InstantCopy so I'd really like to use that, but it's not working...
any idea where I can find out what kinda conflict it has????

Yes. Here's a link to the DVD burning forum. (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=60/) Did you already check out the other link I gave you? How are you attempting to burn with Nero? Run a search on "Foolproof Method" and see if that helps.

@ louthewiz-->I guess we need to go one step further here. Foolproof Method. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19415[/url) If this doesn't fix you up, go to the link I've already provided in this thread and visit the "One click DVD backup solutions forum" where they specialize in helping with this product. Seriously though, you'll get lots of help here, but you can solve a good many of your problems by using the search button, there's one located at the top of every page in this site. You might take a little trip through DVD2SVCD Basic Topics and read the stickies at the top of the page, there's much good advice and help in them. No Texas barbecues today......
@ Filmfan-->You've just "punched the trouble ticket" as Ddogg would say. Having obviously executed a search for the solution to your problem, go look this one up too, it's a good read.
