Just started DVD backup a few weeks back but recently had a problem with a Disney movie when trying to parse the sound file using DVD Maestro 2.9 that read:

"Cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupt. (0xc1070042)"

I have searched around the last few days (waiting for newbie posting access) and found that one member wrote:

"Fixed my multi-angle problem and the audio problem went away as well."

The post was a year old or more and didn't mention software use.

I found another posting that talked about limiting angles with DVD Decrypter that read:

"I solved it by using DVDDecrypter and using F-ile and then in Settings, I Selected Multi Angle Processing and told it to retain angle 1. This seems to have worked, even though i think it should have done the opposite from what i have seen on some of the treads on this forum."

Is this my problem? I'm using DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0 and I can locate an option to limit to one angle (presumably getting rid of optional French opening credits scenes??) if I need to decrypt again and start all over. Also, is this a common problem?

Thanks for helping a newbie.

Hello:

I got this return (along with 20 others) by entering "error on byte offset" in a search. Looks similar to what you're dealing with. Apparently mad_dingo used Smartripper to demux and imported to Maestro from there. If this helps, give a shout, as someone else may be experiencing the same problem, too. If not, post more feedback, and maybe someone that's up with this will run across it. Good luck!
