i recently backed up a copy that i have of red dragon, the movie was over the size of a single dvd-r 4.36 gig so i used dvd2one to cutt out all the extras like subtitles etc to narrow it down in size.

after i tested it on my dvd player it all seemed fine, but just as it was getting to the end of the movie the picture started to freeze and was unwatchable due to the frames playing at 1 mile an hour.

any ideas to why it has done this??? another movie i did recently just stooped at the end as well with continues pauses all the time. As you can imagine this is realy annoying as you wouldnt mind if it was at the beginning as you could fast forward.

any advice you can give me would be most apreciated

The usual cause of this is read errors. Either caused by defective media, or the player can't reliably read recordable DVD.

btw, the end of a DVD is the outer edge, check it for any obvious differences - including fingerprints.

The edges of a DVD is usually a common place where damage can occur down the road. That's why we shouldn't write "to the edge". It's worse when you have bad media to begin with.
