i am looking to import 100 pictures into premiere 6.5 and have them "maintain aspect ratio" and hopefully each one have a diffrent random transition. i would also like to be able to select a time length for each picture on the time line (ex: 5 seconds, 7 seconds, whatever)

i know all of this can be done on a picture per picture basis, but i am looking for a one click easy solution

anyway, if this is all to much to ask for i understand, but maybe, just maybe i could get 1 or 2 of these knocked out.)

Doing them all in one go and yet leave options open to adjust the length of each individually?

Since you may want to give each picture a different duration you have to do 100 manual adjustments unless the duration follows some function that can be applied to all ... that's only logical.

In premiere there are options for importing stills, but you have to follow a certain name convention (something like pix.0001.jpg, pix.0002.jpg etc.) I saw som instructions on their site. Go there. For batch renaming I recommend the free "IrfanView".

Using avisynth there's an absolutely fantastic plugin called "ImageSequence" (go www.avisynth.org to find out more). With this you can chain pix in many different formats, resize, addBorders, change framerates and import into Premeire via an avs plugin.

Something to work from hopefully ....
