French-fries / USA-fries

I hope this thread doesn’t break the rules about war discussion in this forum. If yes I do apologize.

I was yesterday at Six-flags in Texas and guess what I saw: They don’t sell anymore French-fries, they sell now USA-fries!!!!

That reminds me of when I was in elementary school. The school lunch menu items were identified with cutesy little names. I guess Six Flags caters to young children and their immature minds so they would be disposed to renaming French Fries.

By this pattern, the USA needs to change the names of some of its states, they're far too French. And ship the Statue of Liberty back to Europe.

BTW, let's not let this thread get too serious or political, or it will be swiftly terminated by our capable mods :)

iirc, on WWII the american soldiers ate fries from chefs that spoke french, so they called them french-fries. in fact, the chefs were from belgium. the french ppl don't forget it for the americans till this day. 'french-fries' are 'too common' to be related to france ;) apperantly.

yeah, they don't even have "french fries" in france, right? it's an american thing.

Sure we have French fries, but as these potatoes never wanted to tell which country they were from, even when we started dropping some of them in boiling oil (you can't imagine how brave a potatoe can be sometimes), we, French rulers of the potatoe world, decided to call them "frites" (i.e fries) and drop the country flag :p

Either they are French, Belgian, American or Venusian doesn't change the way they taste.

Long live Venusian fries.
