This is the first time I've encountered Divx conversion problem.

Downloaded "pirited Away"in two parts in Divx format (great quality), when trying to convert to DVD mpg-2 using TMPGEnc it gives me a video error number code. I was able to convert part two but came out without audio. Anyone has run into this? Am I missing something? A certain Divx codec? Like I said I've converted many Divx (especially Ghibli Studio films) movies and converted and authoured to DVD without any problem, I'm wondering is it just this particular movie or what?

Any feedbacks will be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the avi files play well in Divx player and Windows Media Player without any problem.

You can find out exactly which codec was used for encoding using G-Spot which can be downloaded here:

G-Spot 2.2 (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/)

The second half of you movie probably had no sound because the audio is AC3 ot VBR (G-Spot will confirm this). TMPGEnc will not recognise either of these types of audio. You either need to convert the audio first (VirtualDub) or use a different program. I always use DVD2SVCD in AVI mode - this uses CCE as the encoder and gives, in my opinion, superior results when compared to other encoders.

Thanks. I'll try it after work and I'll post my result again.

Problem solved! I used VirtualDub to save the audio as wav file then bring the avi and wav into TMPGEnc as video and audio files and encode to DVD and it went perfectly, and easily!
