ac3 support when mux into avi?

ive got an avi that has ac3 audio, i want to join 2 avis and convert to mpeg2, what i was wondering, if it was possible for it to just copy ac3 to the mpeg while its encoding via avisynth?

Vdub should be able to extract the audio - ask in the appropriate forum.
