Hi all,

1. Is there a program/tool that displays just about every property a movie can have (video-codec, bitstram, resolution). There are allot of good-quality movies out there, and I often wonder with how many kbits/s the codec was setup befor encoding, and which other parameters where given to the codec.

2. Where can I optain a mpeg2 codec to use in dvd2avi & virtualdubmod?

Thanks in advance
Atax

1. Get GSpot! It gives you every detail you can imagine for avi and I think ogm-files.

2. I don't know where to get a standalone codec, I installed the Tsunami Filter Pack...

Also try MovieID:

http://www.geocities.com/cplarosa/movieid/

This program identifies the file format of movie files and displays information about them.It identifies all popular movie file formats, including AVI, DivX, ASF, WMV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, QuickTime, and RealMedia. Simply, great.

Btw, new Gspot version has just been released today!

Also very hany program that integrates to the explorer is AviInformation..it shows you details just holding your mouse-cursor over avi-file...
