Any good DVD rippers

I have seen dvd decrypter working and it looks great,but cannot get it to work on my setup.I have tried smart ripper but i am looking for something better than that one. Is there a alternative ripper on par with decrypter?

What's wrong with smartripper?
I mostly use DVDDecrypter, but there are some DVDs that can't be properly decrypted with it, in such cases I use smartripper...
You have basically all the funtionality in smartripper you have in DVDDecrypter, except DVD-writing and Iso-mode...
Many people think that VStrip is the best ripper, but I never bothered with it, because it is quite complicated...
After all, all you want is to rip a dvd to your hd, and smartripper will do this just fine...

what it is, i am a complete beginner and smartripper looks quit complicated and wanted something a bit more intuited.Are there any good smart ripper guides that could help me?

Well, the default values should be ok...
Just go to file mode, select all files, and specify your output directory...
You will then have the whole DVD on your hd, so you can still view it if you want, and still have all possibilities (you could rip just the movie, but I prefer to play save...).
This is all that should be necessary...

By the way, what was the problem with DVDDecrypter on your setup?
Maybe you don't have an ASPI-layer installed...

Do you have PowerDVD installed?
Take a look into its directory...
There is a program called CLDMA.exe...
You should be able to change the properties of your drives regarding DMA-mode with this tool...
Don't know if this is the solution to your strange error message though...

i tried that program that is in the powerdvd folder its says i am using windows XP and the change boxes are greyed out.

i use dvd decrypter as a newbie to the art and i find it easy to use and not had any problems with any disks:D

Try using Chopper XP, it works great. Slightly slower than other rippers but very easy to use and has a video display.:cool:
