View Full Version : IfoEdit error - Decoder doesn't support the new format - NO SOUND

I recently installed GKnot pack and have lost the ability of IfoEdit to decode LPCM audio stream. When I press "DVD Play", it plays but w/o sound and says "The decoder doesn't support the new format". PowerDVD plays VOB files fine with sound. Studio 8 created this DVD for me from my home video and I don't know how to tell Studio 8 to create AC3 stream instead of LPCM.

Thanks in advance.

If this is the only error, its not a big deal, it does this with DTS movies also.

Hi everybody

The same problem occured to me yesterday ; I wanted to clean up my computer, uninstalling lots of trialwares, and unfortunaltely, I can't remember whitch one I shouldn't have removed... I can see this is (quite) an old thread, but I really would like an answer, still I often have to check audio-synch.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem.
It IS a big deal, since LPCM is verry common in DVDs.
I will try to fix it by following The Last Resort guide (http://www.inmatrix.com/articles/mediasetup3.shtml) from the authors of the Zoom Player (which plays LPCM fine.)

The Last Resort guide works! Just needed to reinstall my DVD player.
However it is painful to reinstall all codecs...

I have found the guilty! It's FFDShow.
After reinstalling FFDShow v20040808, the problem was back again!
Uninstalligg it had solved the problem.

Morality: DO NOT USE FFDSHOW!
