would it be possible to move towards to distributing some of the files in the doom9 software library to p2p networks like emule/shareaza or even bittorrent? sometimes getting files off doom9.org seems painfully slow. it'd probably alleviate some of the traffic problems that the site has. its just a thought.

I really think Doom9 is the only one who can
say yes or no to your proposal, downloading
the packages from his site assures people they
are getting the right stuff and not Trojans or
viruses.

well, i was thinking that he could probably seed the files, and maitain a link list for the files in question. you'd then have ed2k://linkandidofthefile instead of the normal links. it might too much hassle than its worth for the people running the site though. its a thought.

i never have a problem with the sites speed. p2p usually is 10 times slower, because people have terrible upload speed.

I think that’s a bad idea, allot of people will come here saying "I downloaded Version<OUT OF DATE VERSION NUMBER> and it doesn’t work and doom9 gave me a Trojan!" that’s allot of cpu cycles and wasted forum space for allot of unnecessary hassle. Not trying to give p2p a bad name but there is a lot of illegal things on p2p networks and I doubt doom9 wants to give out that type of vibe, a lot of people will get the wrong idea about this place also.
