okay Ive been studying and reading for a couple of weeks now ..Ive tried and tried to capture avi in vdub only to have a jerky capture (had no dropped frames! how can this be ) and severe interlacing or telecine Im not sure which . I just tried Iu Vcr with the exact same result !!Same i when I try to capture avi with dvd workshop Im missing something Im sure because I get great captures in dvd workshop in mpeg2 . Someone please have mercy and help Im about to commit computercide . Im using huffyuv in both cases 720X480 ntsc .Captures are all from the same source . Satellite thru svideo

Are you setting your capture framerate to 29.97? I don't use iu_vcr; but it's possible you have something set incorrectly, and jerky, without drops, may be framerate. (The reason I ask -- I use AVI_IO, and it defaults to 15fps.)

vdub also defaults to 15fps.

Thanks for the help Ill check and try again . I think maybe Im trying to absorb too much information too quickly maybe I should let it all settle for awhile and retry everthing when Im less stressed Any ideas about the intrelacing like effects they seem to appear during moments of quick movement

jggimi . Ive got trial version of avi_io . Do you know where I can find any tutorials or "how to " guides for this program . ALso for iuvcr and flycap .
