MPEG Stream Types

In which attributes do these mpeg stream types differ from each other in detail:
Program
Transport
MPEG1
DVD
VCD
SVCD

Program: not sure, i think it is mpeg2 though
Transport: Used for DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) like your sattelite TV
MPEG1: as it says it's mpeg1... usually rather low quality video
DVD: contains high bitrate MPEG2 video at certain resolutions(in germany: 720 x 576 -- PAL)
VCD: contains a mpeg1 video stream, considered low quality, low resolution(352 x 288), properly done it reaches VHS quality
SVCD: contains mpeg2, medium quality/resolution (480 x xxx)

so technically from a compression/format (not quality) standpoint:
TRansport, DVD and SVCD are the same
also equal are mpeg1 and VCD....

Thanx, so it's just a matter of special ISO types which must have a fixed resolution w/ variable bitrate. I thought of much more special attributes before.
