I made a DVD of home video clips whith my Panasonic HS2 recorder, then imported the vobs and reauthored with TMPGEnc Author. I want to play the clips directly from the main menu rather than going to chapter menus first. I used Menuedit to change the commands of the buttons on the main menu to play the clips. I used ifoedit to change the end of program command to return to the main menu at the end of each clip.

All of the above worked fine due to assistance that I have gotten from this forum. The only thing that bothers me is that if I press the menu button on the dvd player remote, it brings up the chapter menu for the current clip which actually has no chapters except the first. I would like that button to do nothing at all or return to the main menu. I will be sending these dvds to nontechie family members and I want operation to be simple with no access of unneeded chapter menus. The top menu button on the dvd player remote, of course does go back to them main menu.

So, does anyone know how to remove a chapter menu while leaving all other operation intact? If not, can the menu button be disabled or redirected to the main menu?

Any help would be appreciated.

Roy

p.s. TMPGEnc author puts the main menu in VIDEO_TS.VOB and the chapter menus in VTS_01_0.VOB, VTS_02_0.VOB, etc.

You seem to know a bit about the DVD Structure so I'll say this in a sort of abbreviated form. When you press a Menu Button on the remote (except for "Title Menu/Top of Menu") it will call for the commands in the PGC Menu of the IFO file for that TitleSet. So if you press the button it goes to the PGC Menu that has 'Root Menu' in it does those commands. All you have to do is put a PGC Link in there to jump to the PGC Menu where your Main Menu is. I hope you followed my somewhat vague description.

Great. That is exactly the information that I was looking for. I won't be able to check it out for a while because I am working on some other projects right now. When I do work on it, I will get back to you if I have any questions. Thanks for your help.
