View Full Version : Audio and subtitles galopingly out of sync

Hi Folks!,

First I must apologize IF there has been an answer before, as I didn't find it out. :)

Also I'm a newbie with ripping films (I want to back my films as I've had enough with scratched disks  ...)

My problem is that the resulting files's audio get more and more out of sync. The 1st movie starts with ~1 sec OoS, the second movie has a time gap of >5 sec. Also the subtitles get out of sync, starting witn beeing sync:ed with the sound, to end beeing totally out of sync. This is true for both the Image file and the Muxed file. The Image file I have tested with Daemon Tools and PowerDVD-XP (which I've also used to play the muxed files.

Almost all settings are the standard ones as the program was installed (the latest version). I have tried with JB-Die Another Day, which previoulsy was ripped with CladDVD.

Hope you're not too  with me... Also I'd like to thank you for your help in advance....

Hello!

Almost all settings are the standard ones as the program was installed (the latest version). I have tried with JB-Die Another Day, which previoulsy was ripped with CladDVD.

Rip either using internal routines of DVD2SVCD or vstrip. External Rippers are known to cause sync issues, like you have described.

WOW!

What a quick reply! I'm amazed  !

Thanks I'll try that!

BTW I looked at the movie, as it has some odd things , like built-in crew comments (alternating comment/movie), and yes there they were. Is there any way of removing them?

Oh, and the resulting files (MUX/CUE/BIN) are garbage, right?

Thanx again!

If the subtitles are hardcoded in the video, you canīt get rid of them, if they are selectable, just donīt select them in DVD2SVCD.

I donīt really know what you mean. I would suggest, you rip the dvd again, using DVD2SVCD, and start the whole process again.

Sorry, I was too unclear. They have some kind of "zoom-out" in the picture, where they minimize the play into one corner and insert filmed comments by the actors/director/etc.
