well first of all i do not know how to do that in xmpeg although i doubt that it is at all possible...
but since you are obviously willing to invest some time into your encodes to get the best quality possible i recommend to try the gknot encoding suit... it is not so much harder to encode and you have far more options and will get superior results!

In addition -- Gordian Knot will allow you to easily test different filter settings (Preview) without having to encode, so you can quickly determine what might look best to you without having to wait.

move the 1st slider to where you want to start encoding, right click, set job start, move 2nd slider for where you want to stop, right click, blah blah blah, then pray that it actually works, cause it never worked for me. video option -> brenham (something like that), for best quality.
i don't think the de-interlacing option really works, unless i'm doing something wrong (maybe)
Deinterlacing bug has been corrected in the XMPEG RC2 Build 3.

i already know that, been testing it out for 2 days.
now i need help, everytime i uses Xmpeg (the newer versions) my computer's font seem to get corrupted, first the font get all bold, then the start menu looks something like this:
P..... (Programs)
F..... (Favorites)
D..... (Documents)
i have to restart my computer just so everything will turn back to normal; also, i'm using the lsx plugin and i can no longer encode the video only (vcd). my OS is ME.
Yes. I was destroying a bad Device Context. I just have change it from hTempDC to hDC, and now, I think it runs perfectly... Give me your E-Mail in PM and you'll receive a new .exe to test.
Eric.
