Short question: Do I have to check 'update log file' in DivX 5 on my own or is Gknot doing this for me?

I ask cause I made a short 4-pass test and after that I looked into DivX5 Codec properties and 'update log file' was unselected; all the other settings seemed to be set by Gknot.

I ask cause as far as I unterstood the principle, you HAVE to select 'update log file' for more than two passes cause otherwise there is no change between the additional passes!? Am I wrong here?

Thank you in advance...

I have this problem too (I can confirm what you describe). I'm unsure if I have to check 'update log file' under Nth pass under the option tab in Gknot or if Gknot is doing this for me anyway when doing multipass (I think that is what you mean with 'Do I have to check 'update log file' in DivX 5 on my own or is Gknot doing this for me?')...

I don't want to realize after 4 passes that I forgot to check that box at the above described location and that I have after 4 passes exactly the same file as with 2 passes (cause the second pass is done 3 times)...

A clear word would be fine...

Unless you change that option youself _DivX_ has that option enabled by default, but GK is not checking for that...

And yes, this option is vital for proper Nth pass encoding.
(but in case it switched off you have proper 2pass anyway, with all others wasted)

P.S. I recommend setting defaults with this option enabled, so you don't have to worry about it anymore...

Ah, OK. Thank you for clearing this up for me...
