I don't really consider myself a newbie but I didn't know where else to post this. I have been burning DVDs with my Cendyne 4X burner for about 4 months now. I love this drive especialy now that the 2XForall is out. I just bought an external enclosure (Belkin USB2.0) so I could use this drive on both of my computers. The problem I have is that when I try to burn DVDs with DVD Decrypter it burns for about 1-2 minutes and then the light on the drive goes out and the program freezes up.

I've tried everything. I tried burning with 3 different medias, and then i tried burning at 1x instead of 2x. I also tried swapping the usb cable to another cable that I know is USB2.0 but that didn't work.

Please help! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Update: I just tried burning a dvd with Nero and I had the same results. It just stopped and froze after 1 1/2 minutes.

hey
i think it might be a problem with your USB port... have tried another one? also are you aware of the fact that most of the time, two USB slots share one port? for example on my comp i got 6 USB slots, 2 in the front panel and 4 in the back... somehow it turned out that the front panel port made my programs frequently crash, everything works fine though when i use the back panel port... in addition i would unplug any other USB device and try again, perhaps this helps...

oh and i guess this post would belong into the hardware forum...
