View Full Version : Get noise when encoding DV AVI with toolame

My understanding is that toolame will accept DV AVI as input. I tried it with the following command:
toolame -b224 -ms -s 48 "Source.avi"

The resulting file is huge, larger than the video I encoded from the same source. When I play back the file I get a second of audio and then noise.

I don't think tooLame accepts DV AVIs as input, neither type-1 nor type-2. But the newer versions of BeSweet at least accept type-2. Maybe you want to try that one.

That would certainly explain my problem. :)

I thought I read in a guide that it worked with DV AVI, but there's no mention of it in the documentation. I'll try BeSweet.

Thanks.
