View Full Version : MPEG2 encode comes out MPEG1
I tried my first encode on a DV AVI with CCE 2.5 (video only). I chose MPEG2 encoding. When I load the mpv file into AVICodec it reports that the video is MPEG1. Is this normal?
I just realized that I could take a look at the mpv that is created with DVD2SVCD when using CCE. It is also MPEG1. I guess this is normal, but I'd love to hear an explanation of why an MPEG2 encode appears to be MPEG1. Is there another way to check the mpv to see if this is an AVICodec app issue?

all my DV AVI encodes with CCE turn out as mpeg2 as expected, try playing the file in mplayer2 and see what codecs it uses on playback

i too get the same thing
mpeg1 video instead of mpeg2
i find this awkward
tho loading it into Nandub v1.0rc2
it specifies its mpeg2 video and wont load it
so something is amiss here
also tmpgenc sees it as an mpeg2 stream
if those programs says its mpeg2 then i'm satisfied that its mpeg2
