HI!
I use my computer for playing games, DVD videos and MP3 tracks so I decided to buy a 5.1 Speakers System but I don't know what!
I'm looking for these qualities:

low price

a very clear and rich quality sound

sound must not become distorted on higher volumes

sound / volume control included

I want to connect it to my dvd standalone player (very important!)

The design and the look should also be taken into account but are not as crucial!

I don't have a 5.1 sound card so I'm interested in a good Soundcard which must be:

powrful (great quality sound)

EAX compatible

cheap (I don't need a great software package!)

easy to install

Someone can help me?

Thank You!

Don't know where you are from, so I'm gonna assume the U.S. All prices from www.newegg.com

For speakers I recommend;

(Choice 1) Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 THX Certified 6 piece Personal Audio System (http://www.klipsch.com/index.asp?path=/products/productspecs.asp?frame=y&id=398) = $358

(Choice 2) Logitech Z-680 5.1 Metallic Silver Speaker 500Watt THX Certified with Dolby Digital (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&CRID=2&CONTENTID=5048&countryid=19&languageid=1) = $275

For a good cheap soundcard I recommend;

(Choice 1) VOYETRA TURTLE BEACH SANTA CRUZ (http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/products/santacruz/indetail.asp) = $59 (M-Audio are also worth a look)

(Choice 2) Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! Dolby Digital 5.1 (http://www.americas.creative.com/products/product.asp?product=266) = $33

Thank you brashquido,

but speakers are too expensive and soundcards are too old (don't support EAX 2)!

What do you think about Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 and Sound Blaster Audigy (not Audigy 2)?

I'm from Italy!
