View Full Version : How can I put 2 DVD's on 1 incl menu?
Does somebody know how I can put 2 DVD's on 1 DVD without losing the menu's of both DVD's? It would be nice to have a menu in which you can choose dvd1 or dvd2 which directs you to the dvd menu of that dvd.

You'd have to demux every asset and teach yourself how to author using Scenarist. It sounds like it should be easy, but it isn't.

Sounds tooooooo difficult.
What if I use DVD Decrypter to save the movie files only from both DVD's (2.1 + 2.3 gb) and put them on 1 DVD? How can I then get a working menu? Somehow it looks like there should be a program like DVD Moviefactory2 from Ulead where you can just insert the two movies in a menu, but the programs I've tested don't know vob, only mpg. I would like to keep the different languages and scrolls. But if that is not possible I might consider the leave out the scrolls and use 1 language. How can I solve this without losing any movie-quality?

the problem is that there is a 'root menu' on each disc, and simply putting the vobs&ifos in the same dir, and rearrange the file names isnt going to work.
the only way you are going to do what you want is to do a full reauthor.

It would be easy if you create one new menu for both movies (and loose the original menus).
Like you say demux the original title and import those assets in an authoring program. Create your own menu (you can use screenshots/videostrema from the original ofcourse).
But anyway you would have to reauthor.

Hi Influenza,
Thanks for your reply.
I know how to do quite a lot on compressing a dvd to the 4.7 gb format or vcd / svcd / divx and removing parts with ifoedit, but I don't have a clue how I can remux a movie. I would like to convert each movie and I don't need a subtitle and I will just maintain 1 of the languages if that is easier, but I don't want to lose any quality. But I do need a sort of mpg file that I can load into for example Ulead movie factory and make my own menu.
Is there a easy way to do this?

If i read correct you say your movies are 2,1 gb and 2,3 gb. Since there can only be 4,3 GB on a dvd you should compress something a little bit (or loose some audio streams if possible).
What you can do:
Use some program to demux the audio and video streams (this is the required input for any authoring program). You can use dvddecryptor, doitfast4u (probably easier). You get an m2v and ac3 file.
(assuming no recompression is needed).
I don't know the program you're mentioning, but any authoring program with which you can make menus will do.
If you want to do it real easy:
create background with two buttons:
button a start movie a
button b start movie b
You can make it much more complicated ofcourse:
button a start new menu with chapters etc, use an animated stream.
But start simple I would say.
I think you can find enough guides on www.doom9.org
Good luck
