Tried it and only managed to do it on a 5.1 input (ac3 or wav).

And I still wish it worked on my machine.....
3.0 and 3.1 both crash on my Win2K

Try converting your music files to 48 khz AC3 with besweet first.
I am at the moment trying the different audio decoders available to see if there is a noticible difference in them. (Cyberlink, Intervideo, Nvidia)

my biggest problem seems to be that i need a filter called "ac3 parser", but canīt finīd it anywhere
The AC3 parser, comes with windows ??
its in the file mpg2splt.ax ?
So you should already have it....
if not regsvr32: http://nic.dnsalias.com/mpg2splt.ax

ok, got all filters now
but the intervideo decoder (and the other intervideo filter) always gives 2 channel output, even on 6 channel input
i got the newest windvd platinum, registered and even used windvd tweaker, but even when the filter is set to 6 channels (canīt do it in windvd, but in the settings box of the filter in ht3) i always get 2 channels out
any ideas??

If you found how to use Intervideo EXP DMO with stereo as input,
tell me !. For instance, (see my guides) it work only
with 5.1 input. So it was not usefull !

@E-Male
beware, Intervideo say "2ch" as output, but it's wrong !!
5.1 are here if Intervideo Audio Decoder "6 speaker mode"
is checked (even if you read "2ch as output").
So, HT3 does not check this information. 5.1 is assumed. So
if it is not, progression will stop before 100%

ok, iīll stop trusting the numbers and do some test

@ hypercube: If you found how to use Intervideo EXP DMO with stereo as input, tell me I played with filtergraph:
[InFile.ac3] --> AC3 Parser Filter --> AC3 Filter -->
InterVideo Audio Processor FX --> Default WaveOut Device
For settings with the "InterVideo Audio Processor FX", you have to open these twice:
1st time: select 6 speaker, and in the tab 'intervideo container DMO', add the EXP DMO from available to cascaded DMO. These push OK to close settings.
2nd time: there is an additional tab, for the EXP DMO settings (where you can select the Prologic things).
As I only have 1 2-speaker system connected to my PC, I cannot test if this really up-converts to 5.1 (prologic). Also, I found no way to output a 5.1 wav (filewriter always gives a 2-channel wav).

do you have only 2ch as input for InterVideo Audio Processor FX ?
may be the solution is to play with AC3filter mixer:
I mean take an 2ch AC3 file Dolby stereo encoded, then
output 5.1 with AC3Fitler BUT: fix to silence Center,
Rear left, Rear Right and LFE.
Also, I found no way to output a 5.1 wav
use last release of Hypercube Transcoder with
engine "WAV Engine (single 6ch file)"

do you have only 2ch as input for InterVideo Audio Processor FX ? Yes
use last release of Hypercube Transcoder with engine WAV Engine Tried that, but when I add "InterVideo Audio Processor FX", Hypercube exits (all versions up to 3.0.2). I'm using WinXP, but also tried to adjust the windows compatibility modes.

GOT IT!!!
filesource(async): 2 channel ac3 file
ac parser filter: -
intervideo audio decoder: 6 speaker, both
intervideo exp dmo: dpl2 settings...
hypercube wrapper: -
in my test the result (6 waves, encoded to ac3 with softencode) sounds quite like dpl2
Iīll do more testings, but i think i can say: congratulations hypercube
and: thank you
i never was that close to being able to add deleted scenes into my rips while keepign the movie 5.1

the main pb for me is that I never eard DPL2.
I don't known if it work or not...
I tried to build a pseudo dolby stereo encoded file
from my AC3 test file (with channel annoucement) and
put it in EXP DMO without knowning if it work or not.
A good test should be:
play an dolby stereo encoded AC3 on a DPL2 receiver
play an dolby stereo encoded AC3 on a PC with EXP DMO
compare result.
I had never eard a good surround FX in DPL2 with EXP DMO
so I think my test file is wrong. is it true, DPL2 sound
is great, near DD quality ??
where can I find a realy good test file for DPL2 ?

I also did it
Soft : Hypercube Transcode 3.0.2
Source : 2Ch. AC3 File 48Khz
Filters:
1 - Ac3 Parser Filter
2 - Cyberlink Audio Decoder :
Audio Output 6 speakers
Dolby Prologic II Enabled
3 - Hypercube Writer
Output : Wav Engine 6 mono wav files
However :
1.- Incorrect channel mapping (easily fixed with Channel Processing)
2.- Apparently LS = RS (Dolby Prologic I only)

@ hypercube: I tried to use the HyperCube wrapper in FilterGraph. It only shows up if HyperCube program is already running, and then I cannot add it in FilterGraph (it say's sth like 'already busy by another application').
Do you have any plans to make this available via FilterGraph ?

@sazanon
where your AC3 file come from ?
witch movie ?
@kempfand
:D :D :D
this is funny, Intervideo did not protect its
filters and me, poor little programmer in my
french country, i did it.
in fact I don't plan to make it available with
graphedit because it was part of HT3.
your idea is another project...and I have a lot
of projects in my mind. :p

@sazanon
do you output only 2ch with AC3Filter ?
if not, have you tried to connect AC3Filter
to Intervideo Audio Decoder with only 2ch on
AC3Filter output pin ?

It works, as described earlier in this threat.
However, by changing the settings (such as dimension setting or center width) for dpl2, there is no change in the end-product (i.e. the 6 wav's). At least that's the case on my system :-(
Guess the EXP with 'EXP DMO' stands for 'experimental, i.e. the intervideo filter is not yet fully implemented.

It works, as described earlier in this threat.
I know. but beware. What I want to say is :
may be AC3Filter make surround stuff outputing 5.1 channels.
So here my question: does AC3Fitler output 2ch or 5.1 channels ?

I use Matrix-Mixer to upmix 2channel audio to 5.1 sound.

@Belgarath406
Matrix-Mixer is not a DPL2 decoder.
does it sound well ?

I use it when watching movies with just a Stereo mp3 sound-track (my own encoded movies have AC3).
The nice thing about Matrix-mixer is that you can setup the mixing-matrix for 5.1 channels as you like, automatically or custom.
It doesn't sound as good as a real 5.1 AC3 source, but it's a very nice compromise.
Besides I don't like to watch movies when the sound is just stereo (why people still make DivX movies with Stereo mp3 in stead of 5.1 AC3 is beyond me).

Stereo to 5.1 AC3 via DPL2 would be a seriously usefull tool. :)

I would suggest you go get Matrix-Mixer from divx-digest and try it out yourself.
Have fun...

This matrix mixer did not do what I thought it would. I thought it would allow AC3 DD5.1 to SPDIF output from a 2.0 stereo MP3/WAV/OGG.
That would be neat.

My surround receiver allows me to upmix any incoming signal using dolby-prologic II.
That would be the only reason for me to use SP-DIF.
However, by letting my HTPC doing all the decoding/upmixing using AC3-filter/Matrix-mixer I don't have to do anything, it's all done automatically depending on the source.
I have connected my soundcard with 4 cables (front-left-right, surround-left-right, center-sub and Rear-surround-left-right) to my surround receiver's 7.1 analogue direct-input.
So I don't use SP-DIF.
