Firstly sorry if i dont give enough information-im dying to get this sorted-just let me know if you need to know anything else and i will include it asap!thanks!

I started getting strange results when converting divx movies to cvd using dvd2svcd.The 1st disk would convert fine-then would get to around 250mb(ish) for the second disk. When watching the 1st disk-there is no probelm-looks fine-sounds is in sync.2nd disk is fine then all of a sudden hits a black screen with this message up on top in red:

avisynth : division by zero at 1x106b035b

I checked my avisynths
ASPI32.SYS 4.60 25244b
WOWPOST.EXE 4.60 4672b
WINASPI.DLL 4.60 5600b
WNASPI32.DLL 4.60 45056b

It says that my aspi's are correctly installed - i d.loaded and installed force aspi - i then un-installed them-and installed gordianknot system pack 1.0 - same results.
Im totally stuck guys-been looking for a answer-im thinking its something to do with aspi's - but im proberyl wrong - any help from you guys would be greatly appriciated!
thanks for any help in advance
cheers

i would bet that the divx has a freeze frame or something wrong with it...check your file with virtual dub.

... also d.loaded the newest version of dvd2svcd.So im using everything that im meant to (i think). This is a good example of what will cause you a problem on this forum. Please re-read the message I posted above. Notice I said READ which implies taking the time to comprehend, not just scan it.

Not good enough, you have given no information helpful to anybody. post logs, version of avisynth, version of dvd2svcd, etc. Read the "how to make a post" post. Also, install the special Beta 7 available in this thread. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51096

You will notice specifically:
1> You were given a link to Beta 7, yes? Why did you not then download it? Answer please.
2> You were asked what version of Avisynth you were using, yes? Why did you not reply with the version of Avisynth you were using? Answer please.
3> You you do understand that Avisynth and Aspi are entirely different items, yes? Answer please.
4> hoozdapimp specifically gave you a suggestion, yes? Why did you not reply to him and say whether you had tried it or if you did not understand, ask him more about it? Answer please.

It is completely ok to not know something and to ask help. It is NOT ok to be lazy, sloppy, treat people with disrespect and not try things that are suggested to you as way of help. If you look back over your sloppy communication, how do you then feel you could have done better? Answer please.

Why am I drilling you? Here is the answer. These type of posts drive good moderators and other great forum members away from this forum. People like you are the specific reason this community has lost some really great mods and those that are left can barely keep up with idiot posts like this that require basic instruction in the most rudimentary forum rules.

Do you think answering crap posts like this perfect example of idiocy is fun for them? Do you think you and all the ones like you are giving anything or just taking away from those people that attempt to be good members of this community? I hope you and those like you will attempt to answer those questions before even attempting to post again.

<a little fun>

Hooooh DDogg!

Off! - Come! - Sit!
Now thaaaat's a good boy - DDogg!

And now bring him back his arm ... and his leg too, DDogg!

Good boy, DDogg! - Come! ... aaaaannd ... Sit!, DDogg!

How many times did I tell you: "We don't eat noobs, DDogg! - Just bark, DDogg - that's all!"

Sorry Sir, he usually is a very good boy - I don't know what made him this angry today. Perhaps the weather? Who knows. Should I call for an ambulance, Sir? - No? - Seriously? - Ok, your decision!

Next time you better not make him angry again, Sir. Just do what he wants you to do and you're fine - got me? In fact, that's a really good advice when dealing with dogs - didn't you know? And you can even use it when surfing the net and participate in forums like this one, Sir. - Yes, believe me, Sir.

Ups! - You dropped your leg Sir! Over there! Yes - you got it. You're really fine? - Ok, ok, I won't ask again! - Promised!

Yeah, have a nice day, too. - Bye!

</a little fun> :D

Gerti! I hope you are well and happy. You are missed. I will have you know that was a very tasty arm indeed (just needed a little sauce on it for flavor) :)

Btw, this was just my weekly random N00Bbecue. A dog needs to eat at least onece a week. :)

Give DDogg his bone. Let him sic 'em at will. Without 'N00Bbecues' DDogg and others would lose whatever sanity he/they have left.

For a dog he has a legit questions no matter how harsh they may appear, that are direct and to the point. If fracmo2000 can realize that he's just getting help and not take anything said personally then I he might get to the bottom of his problem.

Sure I am - I mean well and happy. ;) I also missed the forum and all the fine people in here - but I really had no time in the past, honestly. But I hope I can take some little time now and then in the future to drop in randomly.

I hope you're fine too - good ol'boy - deciding from the way you still chase noobs you're better than ever - just like o good bottle of wine. :D

And howdy to you mrbass - I should have placed a bet on that you would come and encourage him in chasing them. That would have been easy money! :D

But as usual, you're both right - I just fear DDogg already scared the hell out of fracmo2000 - after virtually fraggin' him to pieces. Seems he is too scared to reply. (C'mon fracmo2000 - he only wanted to play a little! ;))

DDogg, I used to think that dogs that bark don't bite, you proved me wrong ;) Now I'm really interfering, which I probably shouldn't do, but your answer really seems too harsh regarding words chosen : "..crap posts like this perfect example of idiocy..."? Man, that's a bit too much. I've seen much more stupid posts than these ones (just take one of my posts and you'll see what I mean :D)

Now Gerti, let me tell you your post made me laugh my eyes out ! Pretty good, so please do me a favor and post more often (I mean it)! :)

Fracmo2000, I still feel a bit sorry for you that you took so much in your face at once, so please, as soon as you are back from the hospital, don't just leave the forums but instead try to put the advices you've been given into practice and report back.

Gee, it had been a long time since I visited this DVD2SVCD forum, but it still seems the harshest of all regarding newbies...:p

(OK, I'm back to minding my own business before I get barked at too...)

Jeeze, for goodness sake, how about just letting this one DIE? DO remember this was a cross post on top of everything else. It just pushed the wrong buttons in me and made me go into a feeding frenzy. I will be good for at least a couple of weeks until the next crap post full of idiocy.
