Problem: 2 lines right, 2 wrong, and so on

I have a problem with a vhs capture (i hope i can describe it correct in english):

the capture is from a pal vhs, res is 720*576, fps 25
deinterlacing doesn´t change the problem

the first 2 lines of pixels are correct
the next 2 lines are wrong, skin color looks much too red, blue water also is wrong, while black and white are mostly fine
the next 2 lines are good again, next wroong and so on

in the next frame the lines that where good are wrong and vice versa

and so on............

does anyone know a solution?

but it didn´t help

it also seems it could be like

(testing some other sources, to eliminate possible routes of the evil)

i think it´s the tape itself that contains the error, but i´m not sure

From what I could determine, it's in the source, or in the capturing process.

I ran your sample through the following AviSynth script:

avisource("strangeerrorsample.avi")
separatefields()
lanczosresize(420,276)

Which separates the original 420x276 frames into multiple 420x138 fields. I then resized (just so I could see) and then opened it in Vdub mod and ran at 4x view. It looks like interlace artifacts within each field to me, that were recorded onto the tape, or possibly, arrived on disk during the capture.

My source is PAL-I, I think I am getting the same problems, but rmPAL has no affect at all on the video.

Any recent advances or any other filters that could work.

I can filter it out with noise reduiction in DUB when capping, but this is a temporal smoother and will make me loose detail. I am sure that rmPAL is along the right lines, but just wont work.
