Hello All,

I have converted a few CSI episodes to 352*288 video and the audio to 48000.
For the video I used TMPGenc using a modified KVCD template (legal GOP lengths etc), but DVDMaestro refused it, claiming error in video stream.
I have now narrowed this problem down to the KVCD matrix, if use the same modified KVCD template but with the standard MPEG Matrix DVDMaestro excepts it.
My question is: Is there any software which can exchange the matrices in a MPEG1 video file like ReStream can with a MPEG2 file?

thanks for any help

Will it decode it correctly if you change the matrices without reencoding?

Perhaps you can try Womble MPEGVCR and use the tool MPEG GOP fixer. Sometimes it helps on broken mpeg2 streams (never tried it on mpeg1). It does not replace the matrices but it can fix GOP errors.

ronnylov,

That is what I was hoping to do, ;) , but I can not find a program to do it :(

I tried ... It scanned the MPEG1 and reported no errors.

Does anyone know of a program to exchange the matrices in a MPEG1 file? Or can someone code a MPEG1 version of ReStream? as I am sure it is just a matter of changing a few bytes, but this is beyond me ;) And surely others would find it useful.

thanks
