Progressive or Interlaced?

I have a video file which DVD2AVI claims is progressive however I can see black line through the movie, could DVD2AVI be incorrect? Should I deinterlace or try swap field order? (removes some only on preview)

Impossible to say without looking at it. Post a frame or two, or better yet, post a small part of the vob (~5s) somewhere so I (or someone else) can dl it and look at it.
