I have a question and maybe someone knows the problem already or it has been posted somewhere else, but i didn`t find any thread for this.
I have problems with the following films:
- Ice Age
- Blood Work
I have a TEAC DVD Drive and use SmartRipper 2.41.
I always copy the whole DVD to Harddrive (have 200gig avaiable :D ) and then start DVD2SVCD. (atm ver. 1.1.3 build 2)
I pick the biggest Ifo and start encoding it. It all works without any problems because i ripped several other films already.
When the whole process is done which takes about 4h30min to 5hours with the following system
AMD Athon XP 2200+
Asus A7V333-X
Infineon 1024 MB DDR RAM 266MHz CL 2
1x 80GB IBM 7200 UPM 2MB Cache
1x 120GB IBM 7200 UPM 8MB Cache
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128MB.
A nice system i think ;) But the problem is that when i open the mpg file its obvious that sound and video are not synchroneous.
I run DVD2SVCD with frame selection and try to skip the trailer at the beginning of Ice Age for example which is 20th Century Fox.
After the trailer there is a similar one shown and then the film starts. The problem is that i see the first logo but sound starts immediately although it should start after the trailer intro.
So when the second logo is starting you already hear the sound of the scenes coming in the future. I mean if the trailer (blood work has 2 or 3 !) or intro is starting sound already starts. If the trailer is 26seconds long then the sound is also 26seconds ahead in the film which is not acceptable for me :)
Can you describe me how to rip off video from .vob and then sound ane mix them together ? Its just terrible :( I want the possibility to give sound delay into dvd2svcd and it then delays sound so it fixes again.
I also thought that doing it with the frame selection method would be enough but it isn`t. When I rip off the trailer there is sound missing (case for Blood Work) which is exactly as long as trailers are.
Looking through the forum and also the Q&A Thread made me find this:
"Q24: My audio and video are not synced
A: This rarely happens. The most common reason is when a DVD have been ripped with an external ripper (like Smartripper). Always us internal routines when possible. (In the new DVD2SVCD versions, you can select "Rip Only" and convert the ripped vob files later). Another reason could be that a trailer is as the first chapter on the DVD (like Swordfish)."
I think this is what describes it perfect. I have a f***ing trailer at the beginning and sound gets asynchroneous because of this.
I cannot find a solution nor do I find a description how to deal with this problem.
I have now 3 DVD`s which do not work and all because of the same problem. (Blood Work / Ice Age / Windtalkers)
Please Help me with my sound problem. Thx
PS: I am sure it`s not the problem of Smart Ripper because i ripped about 10 other films which are synchroneous.
