has anyone noticed a problem using instantcopy to "reencode" titles authored with maestro? in a recent project i have compiled a dvd with maestro -- after it is processed with instantcopy, the title screen no longer shows up. although it is completely black, the hotspots for the mouse still exist and so the movies can be started normally and they seem to play fine. the title screen seems to be the only problem. can anyone else verify this or have suggestions to circumvent? i think i remember having this problem before. essentially, i am a lazy ripper and in my method, i just demux with dvd decrypter and rebuild with maestro without regard to dvd size. then i just process the compiled dvd folder with instantcopy or dvd2one. although one-click tools are notorious for quality loss, i rip out most extras, so i seldom have to reduce the filesize significantly which means that the one-click tools don't inflict too much damage on the quality. this has shown to be an acceptable solution if time and ease are a consideration.
regardless, any help would be appreciated.

i guess no one has experienced this problem before. in order to circumvent the bad title screen, i ran my project through instantcopy, extracted the pdi with pditool, and then demuxed the vobs to provide me with the m2vs and ac3 of the appropriate size. then i reauthored with maestro. this provided a final project of the correct size. i wish someone could verify the problem i have experienced with maestro and instantcopy so that a true fix could be implemented.

i have just had a similar problem.
authored with maestro then compressed with dvd2one in full copy mode and lost the title menu.
the only way i got round it was to compress just the movie only, allowing for the menu then run ifoupdate to get the menu back in place.

good workaround thingimijig... anyone have any ideas why instantcopy and dvd2one have this problem?

when you say the hotspots still appear is this using PowerDVD?
my original Back to the Future DVD's are like that when I select the menu using PowerXP!
yet they are quite fine on a normal DVD player obviously
have you tried the DVD's with missing menu's on a Standalone?

i am testing the dvds in windvd -- i have not tried them on a standalone. but the original image (before running instantcopy) works fine with windvd. something during the reduction is interfering with proper play.
