View Full Version : ivtc frame shift

I'm not really good at explaining this since I'm just starting with ivtc and tmpgenc but I'll try my best.

I've ripped an anime dvd and run it through dvd2avi to get a .d2v. In tmpgenc (the latest as of a week or so ago), I've got the frame rate set to 23.976 and field order is top field first (field a). Video source type is Interlace and source aspect ratio is 4:3 525 line (NTSC, 704x480).

Next, I went into Inverse Telecine and click Auto-setting, selected 24 fps (flicker prioritized) and None for Deinterlacing and hit start. When it was done, I went through myself and (following the guide on doom9), found the patterns for frames and checked myself with the Check button. I also did spot checking to make sure the pattern wasn't broken (had to adjust 2 times for second half after the eye catch and for the next ep preview).

All fine and good, I was happy so I loaded up an avs (2.08) script with tprivtc and ran the file through virtualdubmod+xvid.

And here's where the problem is - every so often a frame seems to ... hmmm... bounce up or down. Watch it for 5 seconds and one frame seems to jump up and then the next frame is back down and 3 seconds go by, a frame jumps, etc... Might be longer than 5 seconds, that's just an example.

So am I making an obvious mistake that's easily correctable? And I hope I explained that well enough. I'm very much new to this stuff.
