Help with jerky mpg2 dvd

I have one of those dolby digital trailer's in vob that I demuxed with vobrator and muxed with tmpegenc into mpg2 for authoring and for some reason there's a lot of jerkiness when I play it back. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Or, what's a better way of doing this? I'm a newb to all of this.. pls help!

I guess that the jerkyness is visible only on TV not on PC, isn´t it?? It looks like your source was interlaced and have been encoded it with wrong field order. If you deal with interlaced source you work with fields (not frames -> one frame = 2 fields). Each field consists of even or odd lines. This thread can make it very clear :):

If you encoded your source with wrong field order you can "repair" it by using program called pulldown.exe (it can be downloaded from Doom9´s software page).

Usage of this program is very easy :)

example: pulldown src.mpv dst.mpv -nopulldown -tff even

For your next encoding try search the forum with key words bff + tff + interlaced + TMPEGenc or so ;).

Thanks for the reply, I learning something but now i'm also more confused :). This is a lot of fun but also very time consuming and a lot to take in. Anyway, for some reason my remuxed mpeg2+ac3 files seems to be working fine now. Maybe I was just stressing my computer last night that caused the jerkyness... weird. :(
