Hi.
I did a search and this hasn't been brought up again but if I'm wrong, forgive me. Anyways, I was wondering if the future versions of GKnot will offer support for Ogg Vorbis audio and the OGM container. Seems like OGM is much better than .avi.

You wouldn't have had to search for that. It's mentioned in the top sticky (the one with 231 posts) and in the *new* gknot 0.28.1-thread.
And about the search: search for "gknot ogm". The first hit is your post (well, now probably mine) and the second (now third) gives you the answer.
About the ogg audio-encoding in gknot: I haven't read anything about that yet.
Regards
use r4r and you have your ogg vorbis audio encoding already.
as for ogm output see CaptainCarrot's post.

OK got it. I created the Ogg audio and now I have loaded it into the Audio A tab of GKnot. What should I chose for Interleaving & AVI overhead though ? There's no option that says OGG audio or anything close to that.
*sigh* read the 2nd post in this thread again

 The 2nd post of this thread mentions nothing about Ogg overhead in GKnot. What do you mean ? (Maybe I'm just plain stupid).

The second post in this thread says that Ogg Vorbis audio is not supported in (current) GKnot. Which means asking for interleaving values doesn't make sense because it doesn't work period.

Well, since it cannot be automatically calculated, is there any way (or formula) with which *I* would be able to calculate the overhead so as to put it into the Files tab of GKnot ? I did a search but no thread seems to have an accurate answer.
For a movie with one ogg track in an OGM container I always set the desired file size at 698, check "no audio" and check "calculate avi overhead". If two ogg tracks I set the filesize at 697.
This leaves me with a 701 MB file 9 out of 10 times.
I'm not 100% sure I have "calculate avi overhead" checked, but I think so.

Overhead for muxing an ogg and an avi file into an ogm is about 2-3.5 MB for a 1 CD rip. Did about 7 or 8 1 CD OGM's and they all had this amount of overhead.
Note: the overhead for an additional ogg file is said to be 0, but try this before you count on it.

my way is to check the calculate overhead, and select no sound for one ogg. usually it will automatically allocate 3 - 4 M for overhead. It works pretty well for one CD, in most time it hits my file size.
but for 2 CDs, I have''t tried many DVDRIP, 2 CD always troubles me when splitting.
for 2 ogg files, i usually uncheck the overhead and select no sound. Then i manually allocate 6 - 8 M for overhead. I don't have much experience for 2 ogg files muxing, but 6 - 8 M will definitelly sufficient.
