Biggest thing I use Ifoedit for is cleaning up VOB's after a backup rip. DVD Decrypter is so good now that many of the stripping features of Ifoedit are no longer important to me. The only thing that DVDD doesn't do is yield clean VOB's after a stream-removal rip. I need to use Ifoedit to run thru the VOB's so that the .IFO is rebuilt with proper pointers and so that the VOB's internal NavPack pointers are adjusted (only important for seeking).
Does anyone know of any other tool besides Ifoedit (perhaps one in active development) that repairs VOB's? IFOUpdate, among others, handles the .IFO cleanup, but I've yet to find anything that repairs VOB's that have been reduced by stream or VOBid/Cell removal.

Can you give a little more detail what youre trying to do? It seems that youre having the same problem like I do in my post here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52429) where no one answered yet.
As you can see in that thread, the Vob/Cell ID are 1/13 and 4/5 and I got a way to change the VOB/Cell ID to 1/1 and that fix the problem of seeking and skipping with remote. My fix was strip again the VOBs with vStrip or Smartripper and reauthor with IFOEdit's DVD Author (top menu). The only thing that I cannot fix with this method is the audio delay. I've tried "AC3 Delay Corrector" but on some ac3 it wouldn't do.

No, you are trying to do something more aggressive than me.
I backup all my DVD's to a big server in my house. I have written a local movie browser, so people can easily..
I follow the same pattern when ripping my DVD's:
1. DVD Decrypter in IFO mode.
2. Strip streams: 0xE0 (video) + 0x8(k) (only one of the audio streams; typically a 6Ch stream) + 0x2(k) (whatever english subtitles are available).
3. I *ONLY* rip the main movie. I don't rip menus, intro's etc. I am not someone who likes extras, director commentary, etc. I just like movies. Because of this, I can safely rename the ripped VOB's to VTS_01_n.VOB, from whatever VTS they were originally part of.
4. When you strip streams, your VOB's are going to be linearly in the correct order, but all of the Navigation Pack pointers are incorrect(NavPacks are the DVD-only MPEG2 private stream, placed just before each of the Video GOP sectors).
5. Obviously, the pointers in the original VTS_0n_0.IFO (now VTS_01_0.IFO) are also all wrong, because of the missing streams.
6. So, right after ripping, I open Ifoedit and ask it to "Create new IFOs", but based on the original VTS_01_0.IFO
7. This goes thru and patches the VOB NavPacks ("Correct VOB-Unit pointers in VOB-files").
8. And it also patches the main VTS_01_0.IFO to remove all menus references, gets rid of pre/post commands, but maintains all of cell information.
9. And creates a new VIDEO_TS.IFO, which links directly into VTS_01.
Ideally DVDD itself would correct NavPack pointers _as it rips_, but it doesn't, hence the required extra step. DVDD _does_ create a nice Ifoedit cell/chapters file as well as a stream-id file with language info, so that a clean VIDEO_TS.IFO+VTS_01_0.IFO could be built without any reference to the original VTS_0n_0.IFO... this is exactly what IFOUpdate, among other tools, does. The problem is that I have not found another tool which nicely touches up the VOB's.

I find that Create IFO's does not always work properly on multi-chapter movies, with multiple cells. The time codes get screwed up. An example is Liberty Stands Still. I recommend an alternate approach.
A. Configure dvd decrypter in IFO I mode. Locate the main movie title and pgc, and rip that only.
B. Copy the video_ts.ifo from the dvd into the same directory as above.
C. Open vts_01_0.ifo and click vob extras. Specify a new output directory, say c:\movie\video_ts. Check off the audio and subtitle streams you want to keep, and all vob id's. Make sure to check the create new video_ts.ifo radio button, while you're at it.
D. Close ifoedit, restart it, and open video_ts.ifo from c:\movie\video_ts. Get VTS Sectors. The resulting subdirectory can be burned to a dvd-r or other blank.
E. Before burning, you can also test the files by opening up a dos window and typing
subst m: c:\movie
where m: is a free drive letter, and setting Windvd (or whatever player you use) to start from m:.
I have never had a case where this does not work. However, if you choose to do the same for extras, then problems may or may not arise. This has to do not with the video stream, but the audio stream. Warner Brothers has a sneaky habit of mapping the (only) audio stream in the extras to 0x85, or some weird number, and authoring their ifo files so there is no audio stream 1, for titlesets 2, 3, etc. Other wacky things they do is to put the main movie, extras, and menus in the same titleset. Ifoedit gets confused and cannot do a proper VOBS Extra collapse of such vob files. In this case, you can use Create IFO to do this job.
