Hi Guys. This is my first post : ) I'm tyring to fly the arc here with an old P1. 120mhz, 32mb ram, pre mmx, win98 os with 95 shell. I havn't been able to get any version of LA running on my machine. Ever time I try to play anything I get this:
Light Alloy 2.4
Error: 0x80040154 ( Class not registered )
Scope:[CoCreateInstance(Builder)]
Main.LoadFile:CreateBuilder
TCPUMeter.Usage:100%
Error: 0x80040154 ( Class not registered )
Scope:[CoCreateInstance(Builder)]
TCPUMeter.Usage:100%
Windows 98 [9x] 4.10 build 040A07CE ( )
DirectX 4.08.00.0400
WinDir: C:\WINDOWS

The LA site is all in RU. I have tryed to post bug reports.
On start up it can't find ENU.dll and EN.dll. It tryed to find these on install and failed as well. When I try to play something I get no NOT FOUNDs useing Sysinternals Filemon and yet the same error message every time????

Please help. This player seems to have very low resorse use and works great on my flatys comp. I wish it would on mine. I have tryed Zoom, great player, but skips as it redraws the GUI when I restore it or it goes to the next track in a playlist.

Thanks in advance : )

120mhz? I don't know what you expect it to play exactly... you should get a better CPU, 300mhz is the BARE MINIMUM for DivX playback, frankly, I'd recommend at least 800mhz.

As far as ZP goes, try using the ultra minimalistic skin, it uses less screen redraws.

Hey I like the old retro land barge! : ) It's actually a cooked P75 and dose rather well with a few tweeks here and there. I play mpg mp3 a* ect. I also like the ZP U.Min skin. Not for everyone on board this arc though. Tell me is ZP 3 any more 98 resorse base friendly than 2.9?

I take it no one knows any thing about how to get Light Alloy working? It would be nice to be able to compare it.

Last time I checked, ZP v3 took about 4-8% system resources on Win98. If you open the options dialog, it goes to about 40% when it's open, but drops back down once you close the options dialog.

Cheers Blight. Thats about the figs I get on ZP 2.9 BTW do you have what you would consider an unbiased take on Light Alloy 2.4? Feel comfortable shareing it: )

#2: Do you have DirectX8 installed ?
I run LA at P120 to watch MPEG-1 and it works quite smoothly.

If you have a look at my first post you will see the version of DX that I have installed in the error message. I'm keen to hear what you think of those EN and ENU.dll 'Not founds'

LA doesn't use mentioned libraries so possibly it is 3rd application (maybe codec?) searches for it.
Please create empty file C:\la.log, then start player, try to play something (I expect you get error then), quit player, zip C:\la.log and send me to flay@pisem.net, I'll try to help you.
