sound quality

When I capture video via ati 7500 my sound quality sucks is there a better way to get at least good sound quality it dosent have to be great but good enought to play through a spound system with out have to turn it up very loud to hear it

Have you tried to increase the volume in the windows mixer ? Or in VDub (if you use this program) ?

Or normalizing during postprocessing via BeSweet ?

If these problem will be the same, please tell use more about your system. the programs and codecs you use, the settings...
