Audio sync problem

I'm encoding DivX with AC3 2chl audio & I can't get it sync, I tried demuxing with DVD Decrypter & DVD2AVI then muxing to avi with Vdubmod,GKnot, & AVIMUX but it just keeps a 1-2 second gap (video starts first).

Any ideas?
