I bought this product about a month ago. Because I did not follow the instructions and install the 2 ASPI drivers they supply, I did not have good results at first. But after adding the 2 ASPI drivers I have not had a single problem with the product. I have been able to copy straight from DVD to CDR creating a VCD in 1 easy step. I normally however just copy from DVD to Mpeg and use my Roxio CDR software and create the VCD later. Because it normally takes an average of 6 hours to copy each DVD to VCD, I have added another step to the process. I started using Smart Ripper to copy the DVD to the hard drive as this only takes me between 15 - 60 minutes. Dup-DVD can then read the .ifo file from the hard drive and create the VCD(Mpeg1) or SVCD (Mpeg2) from the hard drive. The advantage of doing it this way is you can rent many movies at once, get them on your hard drive easily before the movies are due back, then let Dup-DVD do the encoding when you have the time. I am just a novice and started exploring DVD ripping/encoding a little over a month ago, so I appreciate the ease of this one step method from Dup-DVD.
