Ok,
I'm trying to encode episode 2x06 of the X-Files, "Ascension." I've had success up to this point encoding season one and the first five episodes of season two using GK and Divx 5.0.x. The only parameters I change besides resolution (staying within the GK 32/16 modulo) is modifying the *.avs to look like this after I select IVTC:

Telecide(chroma=true)
Decimate(cycle=5,mode=1,quality=3)

I do this because all the filmed content of an episode is progressive (but not telecined), but the damn opening credits are 100% interlaced. So mode=1 helps me take care of the "hybrid" nature of these clips.

Now, on to the problem: 2x06 fails consistently and reproducibly, aborting with this strange error on frame 17800:

Avisynth read error:
Avisynth: caught an access violation at 0x01050d09, attempting to read from 0x05e5c48b

I've tried modifying just about every setting I could think of, trying to isolate whether some particular option was causing the error. I've tried encoding with Xvid instead of Divx, I've tried every permutation of resize filter+field operation that I would normally use (so combinations like Greedy HMA and bilinear resize) were not tried; combos like Lanczos and Telecide were), I've tried turning on/off B-frames, GMC, QPel and PsyVis, respectively.

I was able to reproduce the error on my friend's computer, who incidentally is running a completely different platform (P4 Northwood vs. Athlon XP Thoroughbred-B; etc.,). Anyone have any ideas?
