resize or not?

is it okay to capture tv at 640x480 NTSC and convert to 352x240 divx? svcd?

or should i capture 352x240 for divx and 640x480 for svcd?


i have the leadtek winfast 2000/xp can my hard drive or something is not fast enough to capture at 7xxX480 huffuv YUY2 predict left (fastest) or even predict Median (best). cpu never tops out... stays about 60-85% but i get pauses (frame drop outs for a second) ever 5-30 seconds.

also if resizing filter before or after the resize.

and i ahve searched and not found my answers... :-)

...and i ahve searched and not found my answers... :-) Well, your first 2 questions on capture size, I think, are answered in questions 9 and 10 of the Capture FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32575).

As to your other problem (capture dropping frames every few seconds) ... It could be your capture software or capture driver, of course, or it could be background tasks (such as virus protection), your audio sync, or it could be the source video.

You might look at question 20, 21, and 22, and see if they help you.
