Doing a compressability check?

And a feature I also like is the compressability test which will help you in the following ways:
1) Decision to make 1 or 2 CD's.
2) Prevent undersized movies.
3) Fine-tune the parameters (especially the resolution) to attain 'optimum' quality (optimum of course being 'in the eye of the beholder').

Could someone please explain to me.......

1. How to do a compressability test in 0.28

2. How to interpret the results.

For example, I have just done a rip of 'The Client'. Yet my divX file is only 593MB when it should be 700MB.

Have a look at the updated doom9 GK guides. They should cover your needs.

Compressibility test > 100% is likely to cause undersized files.

in the same forum (divx 5 encoding) there's a sticky about why you get undersized files. might also be interesting for you!

this rather seems to me like a wrong setting or so. how was the quality? i guess not too good, am i right?
