I’m using the new GKnot .28 version that was just released approx- a week ago. All is well, both Xvid & divX 5.05 encodes. Though, I’ve noticed that my encodes on both codec’s are only attaining approx- 10fps. From what I’ve read in other forums, it may have to do with the V-dub mod version slowing it down.

My question is, can we update our Virtual-dub versions to the newest released (2 days ago)? If we do will the Gknot .28 recognize the newest version of V-dub? If so, can we simply install the newest version into the Gknot folder and overwrite the original V-dub?

Hi,

I can't answer the question about updating, but from reading the last few posts in this thread:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51794

It would seem that VDubMod might not be the problem. As the user posting was able to get his encodes back up to around 25-30fps.

And as for upgrading the VDubMod version goes, if it were me, I'd just try it and see, and if it throws a wobbly, revert to the original version :)

On second thoughts....according to this:

the latest VDubMod might not work with gknot.

and as for speed.. I'm encoding at roughly 40fps using divx5.05 in gknot 0.28 (using the vdubmod that shipped with the program).

I guess you can't update GordianKnot 0.28 with VirtualDubMod 1.5.1.1a

I just tried, and GordianKnot gives me some error about "audio2" when I try to run a compressibility test, or when I try to run an encode...

If someone knows how to fix this...

Nothing can be done.Have to have an older version of vdmod to work with gknot 0.28
