For most encode, i'll answer ffdshow,
But with ffdshow you'll end with some slight luminance problem sometimes,
Which wont show using divx3.11 alpha codec.

So I'll say:
- use ffdshow if you don't really care about luminance variations over time,
- use divx5.X if you don't care about possible decoding problems by divx5.X ( this is way more nasty).
- use divx3.11 alpha when you really care about quality.
( setting postprocessing to max).

But this is only true for video clip produced by nandub (or direct derivate).
Not by ffvfw ,since it being based on ffmpeg, may not produce the same exactly result.
(In this case i'll suggests using ffdshow.)

Of course if you end with badly encoded or non filtered video,
you'll prolly go for ffdshow + filtering.

For high-bitrate-and-Nandub-encoded anime, I get better results with original divx3.11 decoder.

ffdshow sure didn't like AVIs that weren't to the nearest 16 or 8 pixels, i think. after uninstalling ffdshow they played ok, otherwise it had diagonal distortion, a weeeee bit like trying to watch a cable channel you haven't paid for (at least in the old days). oh well. thanks guys!
