DVD drive

can you rip dvd's without a dvd drive? i only have a cd r/w and i have tried to do it but can't figure it out. people told me i can do it but i just don't know how, so if anyone can tell me if it is possible and how i would be very thankfull.

I'm sorry, but you were misinformed. CD and DVD may be the same size and shape, they may both be optical digital storage, but they are not the same technologies.
