View Full Version : Audio lower (in frequency) on encodes

Hi,
I have a very wierd difficulty with my movie encoding with DVD2VCD:

Every encode I do, and I've tried a few, comes off sounding like it's a few notes lower.
Now, my original thought was that for some reason the Audio is clipped in a way that it has to be stretched to fit the time (hence the decrease in frequency), and it does seem it goes a little of sync towards the end, so it might be it.

Anyway, whatever the problem is, I have no idea how to fix it. I do not know what you need added to the post, but I'm giving the BeSweet log from the DVD2SVCD log:

Also, if there is anyway to change this on the already encoded movie, so I won't have to encode it again, it would be great.

Also, I just remembered, I chose the Pal/NTSC conversion from the options, so could this be it?

Please help,
Yours,
Tsphere

Hello!
Hm... very strange. Please post your besweet-log as well.
Also, I just remembered, I chose the Pal/NTSC conversion from the options, so could this be it?
Definately yes. Try it without checking this option.

The thing is I want it to view on standalone player and TV, which are PAL...

So, what should I do?

Don't panic!
The vast majority of DVD players, even in PAL countries, will play NTSC SVCDs perfectly well. If you want to be sure before you encode again there are some samples to download and burn to a disc to try in your standalone. There's a link to them in the Q+A.

Good luck!
Nick
