VitualDubMod Problem

I have a problem when I'm in capture mode.

VirtualDub won't let me capture video at any resolution higher than 320x240. My tuner supports up to 640x480 (or 720x480).

When I try to set it up for a higher resolution than 320x240 i get the error message "Error 414: Unsupported Video Format"

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Try uninstalling your drivers, rebooting, downloading the latest drivers from btwincap.sourceforge.net, using the uninstall feature, rebooting again, then running the install again and this time fiddling with it as instructed until you get it. Warning: this will most likely prevent bundled software tuner/capture programs from working, but should allow you to capture at higher resolutions in other color spaces (it did for me). Hope this helps.

Ok, i installed the btwincap drivers and they work really great.

Unfortuantely I still have some issues with VirtualDubMod.
I'm using a card with the BT 878 chip.

I can use preview mode at any resolution I want, but the video is jerky. Overvlay mode works very smooth, but will only display at 320x240.


Also, I tried to use the BT8x8 tweaker, but it sells that I need some dll files from DScaler.

I'm not sure about DScaler, I keep reading about it but haven't gotten it yet. For me I have the same problem with the drivers concerning the overlay and previews, but since the capture is good I just use another program (there is some wscmdimmutils or some name like that file on the btwincap site that is small and easy to use) to figure out the channels, tv.yahoo.com to figure out when stuff is on, then just use vdubmod to capture and not to preview or overlay.

wen using preview mode, enable ddraw acceleration in both fields in vdub, it speeds a lot! and the video run smooth

I use win98se and drivers from btwincap always crash my comp... I have a pinnacle pctv rave and tried both ver.4.0xxx (supplied with the card) & 5.1 from pinnaclesys.com.

With version 5.1 Vdubsynch+vcr won't let me select any res above 352*288, or I end up with the 418 error

ver4.00xxx seems to works fine. I follow the guide, launch pctv then close it ( the "server" thingy is running ) I start Vdubsynch+vcr and there's a warning poping up telling me that I will face troubles capturing @ res higher than 320*240 with this card. When I click ok to learn more about it, there's no help file. I checked the zip file dowloaded from virtualdub.net : no help file....

What's wrong with this card, where can I find that help file ?

4.02a pinnacle drivers works great... I just add to disable overlay to capture right @ 768*576.... Who removed the help file in Vdubmodvcr ???
