Damn Pinnacle. I got an email from them saying they rejected my rebate coupon because I didn't give them an actual receipt. I printed out my receipt from the Internet and sent the packing slip that came with it.
Haven't those people ever heard of purchasing over the Internet?
I have no recourse because they offload their rebates to another company, and they just bounce my emails back.
Any ideas?

Email some customer service people at pinnacle. Let them know you are not very happy with how the situation is being handled. Be firm but don't be a jerk.

that sucks...I printed it out too my receipt from my email or was it from their jandr.com website ..can't recall. I didn't get anything (maybe I did but couldn't find it). Oh well down $20..will have to make it up some other way. I haven't seen my rebate either and it seems like it's been over a year.

it doesn't make sense. I just read the fine print on the rebate and it says a copy of the reciept. Not 'Actual' reciept. I printed the electronic reciept buy.com gave me so they should accept that.
We'll see i guess. I'm going to print everything. If all else fails I'll hold buy.com to it since they 'advertised' the matching rebate.

I knew this was going to happen. I started thinking nice thoughts about Pinnacle and was shot down by reality. That will teach me!

I also got a refused rebate from Pinnacle. I bought IC from JR Music on the web and sent a copy of all the transactions and still they refused. Nothing but a piece of "BAIT" to lure customers in and rip them off.

This is why I never deal with rebates. They are like insurance companies. They always deny your claim the first time. You have to bust your ass to get your money which they owe you.
Here is what I got from them...

Dispute the charge on your credit card. If you have been a good customer of your credit card company they will fight for you.

I hate rebates too. (Have not received two rebates for H&R Block's Tax Cut Platinum.)
However, if you want to get a rebate for IC purchased from J&R Music World, you have to mail your original packing slip. I know some of you have probably ordered multiple items and don't want to give up this original, but that's the only way to get the rebate.

I did send in the original and was still denied.

Just wondering
Is JR Music the common denominator here or is it all the rebates. I bought from googlegear and have not heard a word pro or con.

Wasssup with that, you have to open a user profile. Is this Pinahole only or is this a service for rebates in general??
Dd:scared:
EDIT: This site" www.wheresmyrebate.com " mentioned in the thread does not even show I have a rebate, let alone the status of same!! Rebates SUCK.

I ordered IC-7 from chumbo.com in mid-March and sent in the rebate form along with a copy of the packing slip, the online order confirmation and the original UPC cardboard piece about 5 weeks ago.
Just received the following Email from Pinnacle this evening:

Will edit this when in fact I do receive my rebate.
Cheers!

I also bought IC from J&R and was approved for the rebate.
I have not received any email, but just went to WheresMyRebate (http://www.wheresmyrebate.com/) and checked on the status of my rebate. It says it is approved, but has not yet been mailed. By the way, you don't have to register with the site to check on your rebate status. Just use the Track My Rebate link on the main page and enter your info.
Also, if your rebate was rejected, they (theoretically) tell you why...

I am not sure if this is 100% correct but I once had a friend in marketing that told me that up to 90% of purchases made with rebates are never paid. How can that be? Rebates never sent in, rebates lost in the mail, rebates lost in "processing", rebates submitted but rejected for various "technical" reasons, i.e., submitted too late, no bar code, serial numbers, forms illegible, etc. And from my own experience, refusal to accept receipts submitted??? If the form says, "Store receipt" they may not accept a computer print out of a receipt as valid. Then there is the last line of defense, send the rebate check in an envelope which has a pile of junk advertising included and make sure the check is buried in some nice inconspicuous spot, many of these are tossed accidentally with the usual junk mail or take so long to be sent out that people have moved. Amazing but helps to explain why so many manufacturers can offer whopping rebates, the majority are never paid. You can fight many of these thing, if you are notified, but often you will not be, and then it will take quite a bit of effort and you may still not succeed. My suggestion, if you wouldn't buy the product without the rebate, don't!

excellent advice which I will follow. I paid $40 + $5 shipping for IC7 and would've paid that price regardless. Still pinnacle gets on my bad side.
