I have a split movie in avi format..each file is 700mb. It's using XVID encoding. I've been looking through the guides and faqs and trying to find out the answer for myself...but I think I must be missing it. I see plenty of guides on turning dvd's INTO avi's...but can't seem to find any reasonable ones for turning avi's into dvd-r's. the only one I found required 4 or 5 different programs.

I'm guessing there's an easier way...a one-click program I can use that converts audio and video and puts it all into a handy dvd-r playable on dvd standalone players?

Or can those other programs (dvd2avi comes to mind) not only concert dvd into avi...but also the reverse? I thought it was only a one way thing.

I'd also like to comment that this isn't a movie file. Well, it is, but it's not. It's my Max animation.

Not sure why there are no responses, but most dvd burners are now coming with the software that will author the avi movie to dvd. Mine came with ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD and it works alright, but slow at authoring the Divx movies. Roxio's Easy CD DVD 6 works as well, but is even slower. The best program that I'm sticking with is NeoDVD plus4. It does the same job in a fraction of the time, and has more settings. I have also used this for combining multiple avi's to one dvd. The file was 7 gigs, but a quick run through DVD2one, and it's perfect. Hope this was what you were looking for.

Not sure if it'll handle an X-Vid file (it should do, provided the codec is installed), but if so, Pinnacle Edition would let you import the AVI to the timeline, and then simply 'print' the timeline to a DVD-R, in DVD format. You don't get any flashy menus - all you get is a single 'play' button. Easy as hell to do it though.
